Our office uses a wide variety of the latest technologies and procedures to straighten your smile. There have been great strides made in orthodontic techniques and appliances over the past decade. Our doctor will apply those that suit your case. Metal braces are still the most commonly used orthodontic treatment. These traditional Elizabeth braces allow three-dimensional movement of the teeth into their proper position and articulation. These braces use brackets on the front of the teeth with wires strung between them that exert pressure on the teeth. Many of our younger and teenage patients prefer to add colors onto the wires with the elastics that tie the wires. Similar to metal braces are lingual braces, which are attached to the back of the teeth instead of the front so they are not seen. Unfortunately, since lingual braces go behind the teeth they are much harder to work on than front-facing braces and, therefore, are more expensive.
Our office also used clear
Elizabeth braces. These braces are much less visible than metal braces, so many of our patients prefer them. There are two types of clear braces, plastic and aluminum oxide. The aluminum oxide kind is much stronger than the plastic and will not stain. Clear braces show off the color in the elastic better and can be used without color, or ”invisible”. Please make an appointment so that our doctor can do an evaluative consultation to see if orthodontics can help you to enjoy the perfect teeth and smile.
